COUNTY OF MAUI, BOARD OF WATER SUPPLY
RESOLUTION NO. 04 (1997)

Maui County Board of Water Supply Granting Its Director
Authority to Execute Contracts for Capital Improvement Projects



	WHEREAS, all Capital Improvement Projects ("CIP") must

be approved by the Maui County Board of Water Supply ("Board"); and

	WHEREAS, funds for the CIP are appropriated when the yearly 

budget is approved by the Board, or as may subsequently be amended; 

and

	WHEREAS, all CIP included in the budget are bid in conformity 

with the state procurement code and are routinely awarded to the 

lowest responsible bidder; and

	WHEREAS, the Board desires to delegate responsibility for the 

execution of contracts for CIP to the Director of the Department of 

Water Supply; now, therefore, 

	BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Water Supply of the County of 

Maui that:

     1. The Board hereby authorizes the Director to execute

contracts encumbering funds for CIP that are fully

appropriated in the Board's budget and which have been

approved by the Department of Corporation Counsel.

     2.  Any  additional  funds  required  over  the  signed

contract amount will need to be approved by the Maui  County

Board of Water Supply.

     3. Contracts executed by the Director are to be

processed and awarded in conformity with the State

Procurement Code.

     4. The Director shall submit a monthly report to the

Board of any contracts and change orders so executed in

behalf of the Board pursuant to the Resolution.

     5. A copy of this Resolution shall be kept on file and

may be attached to any contracts so executed by the Director.

	IN WITNESS WHEREOF, and by proper vote of the Board of 

Water Supply, I have hereunto subscribed my name and affixed 

the seal of the Board of Water Supply
